1. Who is Bruce Schneier? Why is he noteworthy? *

Bruce Schneier is an American cryptographer, computer security specialist, and writer, wherein most of his books tackle about computer security and cryptography.

The reason as to why he's noteworthy is because of his Applied Cryptography being a popular reference work for the subject itself, with Blowfish and Twofish, discusses in the following questions, as part of the algorithms he has done to tackle cryptographic measures. His theory of following security protocol ensures security regardless of the behavior of others is a noteworthy undertaking made by Bruce Schneier himself.

2. In your own words, describe TwoFish *

TwoFish is a code decrypter and encrypter that uses the same key for both processes. In layman's term, if you study in CSB, it means that instead of being able to enter the campus using your own ID and leave the premises using someone else's, you'd have to enter and exit with both being the same ID and no one else's.

TwoFish is one of the five finalists of the Advanced Encryption Standard contest.

3. In your own words, describe Blowfish *

Blowfish is the same as TwoFish, in that both are codes (cipher in Cryptographic terms) for decrypting and encrypting purposes. It is one of the most widely used block ciphers to date, with no one being able to do a cryptanalysis for it.

4. In your own words, what are the similarities between TwoFish and Blowfish? *

TwoFish and Blowfish uses the same key for both encryption and decryption (aka symettric key block cipher) and that both are majorly developed by Bruce Schneier.

5. In your own words, what are the differences between TwoFish and Blowfish? *

The difference I believe is firstly the fact that Blowfish is still currently the fastest block cipher being used to date, while TwoFish is not as commonly used as Blowfish. The other notable difference I believe is that Blowfish only has a 64-bit block size, while TwoFish has 128-bit.

6. In your own words, what is the Advanced Encryption Standard or AES? *

Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is an encryption standard adopted by the U.S. Government which replaced the aging Data Encryption Standard (DES). It's fast in both hardware and software, easy to implement, and requires little memory consumption.

7. In your own words, what is Rijndael? *

Rijndael is the mixing of its inventors name, Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen. It's the winning entry in the AES.

8. Why do you think Rijndael was chosen as the AES? *

I believe it was chosen instead of TwoFish and the other three (3) entries on the basis that Rijndael is better in terms of standardisation purposes.

9. Who is Phil ZImmerman? Why is he noteworthy? *

Phil Zimmerman is the creator of Pretty Good Privacy (PGP). He is noteworthy because of the basis that his creation is the most widely used email encryption software in the world and that his contributions in VoIP Protocols paved way for further and greater developments in the VoIP arena.

10. What is PGP? Why is it noteworthy?

PGP is Pretty Good Privacy, Phil Zimmerman's work. It is noteworthy on the basis that hey, it's the one big reason as to why we can freely attach our files over our e-mail and not even worry that someone else downloads it.
